How to Check and Download Your EPF Passbook
- Visit the Official Portal: Click the official link above to open
passbook.epfindia.gov.in. - Enter Credentials: Input your 12-digit UAN, your password, and solve the alphanumeric captcha displayed on the screen.
- Two-Factor OTP: If enabled, enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Select Member ID: If you have worked across multiple companies, select the specific Member ID corresponding to the establishment whose passbook you wish to view.
- Download PDF: Click on "Download Passbook" to get a stamped copy of your monthly contributions and yearly interest credits.
EPFO Passbook Not Working? Common Issues & Fixes
If you recently registered your UAN or changed your password, EPFO's secondary passbook database takes 6 hours to sync with the primary member database. Wait 6 hours and try again.
The EPFO passbook portal experiences peak traffic between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays. If the page fails to load, try logging in during off-peak hours (early morning or after 8:00 PM).
If your employer is an exempted trust (such as TCS, Infosys, BHEL, etc.), EPFO does not manage your passbook directly. You must log in to your company's internal PF trust portal to view balances.
