UPI Lite — Small Payments Without PIN
UPI Lite is an NPCI feature that enables small-value UPI payments (up to ₹500) without entering your UPI PIN every time. It uses a pre-funded on-device wallet to speed up transactions.

How UPI Lite Works
On-device wallet
UPI Lite loads a pre-approved balance from your bank account onto your device. Payments up to ₹500 are processed from this balance — no bank server round-trip for each transaction.
No UPI PIN for payments
Since the balance is pre-authorised, each payment does not require UPI PIN entry — making small payments faster.
Works with limited or no internet
UPI Lite transactions are processed on-device first, then reconciled with the bank. This enables faster payments even in low-connectivity scenarios.
Recharge from bank account
When your UPI Lite wallet runs low, recharge it from your bank account (UPI PIN required for recharge).
