UPI PIN — Set, Change & Reset
Your UPI PIN is a 4 or 6-digit number that you create when registering on UPI. It authorises every UPI transaction and must never be shared with anyone.
🔐 Security Alert — Never Share Your UPI PIN
No bank, NPCI, UPI app, or payment gateway will ever ask for your UPI PIN. If anyone asks for it, it is a fraud attempt. Your UPI PIN is known only to you.
How to Set UPI PIN (First Time)
- 1.Open UPI app (BHIM/PhonePe/GPay)
- 2.Add your bank account
- 3.Select "Set UPI PIN"
- 4.Enter last 6 digits of your debit card + expiry date
- 5.Enter OTP received on registered mobile
- 6.Set your 4 or 6-digit UPI PIN
How to Change UPI PIN
- 1.Open UPI app
- 2.Go to Bank Account → Manage UPI PIN
- 3.Select "Change UPI PIN"
- 4.Enter current PIN
- 5.Enter and confirm new PIN
How to Reset Forgotten UPI PIN
- 1.Open UPI app → Bank Account → Forgot UPI PIN
- 2.Enter last 6 digits of debit card + expiry
- 3.Enter OTP received on registered mobile
- 4.Set a new UPI PIN
UPI PIN — Key Facts
- 1.4 or 6 digits (depends on your bank)
- 2.Required for every UPI payment above ₹500 (UPI Lite below ₹500 is PIN-free)
- 3.Wrong PIN 3 times → PIN blocked temporarily
- 4.Same or different from ATM PIN (bank-specific)
